My boyfriend and I hosted a Tequila Tasting Party this passed weekend. Everyone does wine tasting, why not tequila.
We brought back a couple of bottles from Mexico and bought a few more from Beverages & More! We had four different tequilas to taste and one to mix with margaritas. Here are the four tequilas we tasted:
It was really interesting at the party there was not one that everyone could agree was their favorite. My favorite were the last two but quite a few people preferred the blanco! Everyone did agree, however that Milagro Silver made a perfect margarita.
For the party, I made my own Margarita mix since the stuff from the store is so sweet! It is very easy
1 can limeade
5 lemons juiced
3 oranges juiced
Tequila (my preference is Milagro)
Mix all of the juice in a pitcher and add water to taste. Enjoy the perfect margarita!

6I can't remember my margarita rescipe perfectly (i haven't made them in a while) But it included lime juice, triple sec, tequila, (something else i think?) and a splash of Grand Marnier once poured into glasses. totalyl delish.

8I think it was the NY Times, but I read an article probably like a month ago about a group of friends who got together to have a gin tasting party, but tequila is a great idea. I guess you could do it with any liquor - a vodka party would be pretty awesome too.
9I think a tasting party is always fun. Even for non-alcohol related things. I bought a bunch of different kinds of oil olive that had been harvested at different times and some were flavored. I had everyone taste them just to see which was their favorite. Everyone enjoyed it.

12That is why you have a tequila tasting party. All of my guests were a little scared as well but once they had a few margaritas in them they were willing to taste the rest! Start them off slow and I am sure they will develop the same liking we have!
