pastrydiva A Special Valentine's Toast Jan 27, 2012 6:43 PM Sydney and I were racking our brains trying to create a new champagne cocktail, that would not only look alluring, but be a palatable party. What we finally settled on was The Sydney-Chellepagne; it represents our favorite flavors and is festive enough for any holiday. I thought how sweet it would be to serve the Sydney-Chelle on a bed tray to your special Valentine. Hint hint to DF by the way! Don’t you think that would be a lovely surprise, or in my case a pseudo surprise... Visit Bobbie and Sydney for a special bubbly Valentin's Day cocktail at Bobbies's Baking Blog.com
pastrydiva Alluring Food, Troubleshooting Macro Photograph issues Jan 25, 2012 6:43 PM In the past month Sydney and I have found ourselves using glass for quite a few recipes ( the esthetics can be eye popping). Glass however can be problematic when working with studio lighting. I wanted the Champagne Pudding to have a romantic yet mysterious look. After spending time researching “false black” backgrounds, instead of masking in photoshop, Sydney and I put together a DIY macro table setting, Using an antique night stand, a black stone dish, and a red napkin Sydney styled the pudding beautifully. It was my turn to create the alluring mood. As I have mentioned in previous posts I have canon lens and cameras, I decided to use my EOS mark 111 with the 100mm 1.2.8 lens. I set the iso to 100, light boxes were set to 224, the aperture was set to 18  and the shutter speed to 1/200. Bobbie and Sydney want to aide bloggers with precious and guarded macro food photograph secrets. If you want professional looking photo read Bobbie's Baking Blog.
pastrydiva Petite Champagne Cakes, Perfect for an Intimate Valentine’s Day Dessert Jan 23, 2012 7:39 AM Valentine’s day; the first thought we both had was champagne. We had already designed a bubbly fun Champagne Pudding . I wanted to create a romantic elegant dessert, but found my brain was full of too many ideas. Sydney, however, thought petit cakes covered with a fondant top would embody the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Instantly I began to writing down ideas for rose champagne cakes; it suddenly dawned upon me I didn’t need to start from scratch. We had already developed a classic delicate White Cake recipe with a few tweaks the cake would be over top. While baking these pink champagne beauties something magical happened. Sydney and I had one of the most exceptional times together. We always enjoy baking together, but there was something special that day; I wish I could describe the connection, but words seem to fail me. She is a unique person and I am blessed to have her be apart of my life; sometimes I forget to show what a miracle her being my daughter is. pastrydiva Champagne Pudding, Bubbly Fun Jan 17, 2012 8:04 AM Every year, we have a champagne left over from New Year’s Eve; each year Sydney and I create unique romantic desserts with the remaining champagne. This year, 2012, we were able to use the champagne in three separate recipes; Champagne Pudding was the first. The end result was enchanting and delightful. I had purchased these slated 2-ounce glasses that would be the perfect petite size. pastrydiva Rich Double Chocolate Cupcakes, a Treat for Tebow Jan 14, 2012 4:15 PM Being from Colorado everyone here has fallen in love with Tim Tebow; Sydney and I thought it might be fun to create a fusion of Valentine’s Day and Tim Tebow. The end result is a rich buttermilk chocolate cupcake with an even richer chocolate icing. I must admit hailing from Chicago (originally) I have always been an avid Bears fan; Tim Tebow with positive attitude, plus his generosity even when he doesn’t play well has become one of my all time favorite players. Unlike most, I respect and admire him regardless of wins or loses. In some ways he reminds me of a Marine; he’ll do what ever it takes to lift his teammates, his morals are unapproachable, he truly embodies the the meaning of Semper Fi (Semper Fidelis  Latin for “Always Faithful or loyal”). I doubt there is a person who would argue Tim Tebow’s loyalty. Not since Micheal Jordon (yes I know he played basketball) has there been a player more devoted to a team and understands the meaning of being a part of something. Watch the game, root for the team you favor, either way Tebow Chocolate Buttermilk Cupcakes take the Championship. So hike on over to Bobbie's Baking Blog for the recipe.
